I was able to sit down with multimedia artist Jacob Below about his work as an artist over the course of his career.

Richard: So I saw your work and I saw your stuff. I’ll just get right into it. How did you get started in art work?

Jacob: Well, the first thing is that I’ve been drawing ever since I was three years old. I would just be drawing well into the night and my parents would be trying to catch up on sleep and I would be walking them up through the night to say, “Look what I drew, mommy! Look what I drew, daddy!”

Richard: So what do you love most about your work and do you love the least?

Jacob: There’s so much about art that I love. Not only is it a way of expressing myself, I think I have a whole list of philosophies on my website that have been quoted by artists all throughout history. Some like saying that art can influence perceptions of the world. It can influence the viewer’s perceptions. It can bring us closer together. I think that’s the most important thing about it.
